Isabell Werth, winner of four Olympic gold medals, plans to return to New York’s Central Park Horse Show  at the end of September to line up with Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro in the second year of an event that has attained celebrity status on the global circuit.

Isabell, among the most decorated dressage riders in history, plans to bring El Santo NRW back to the event which the pair won in the inaugural year.

She also disclosed that Bella Rose is back in full training after an injury at the World Games a year ago followed by a second injury earlier this year has kept the 11-year-old Westfalen mare out of the competition arena.

She opted to keep Bella Rose out of contention for a place on the German team at these European Championships in Aachen to give the horse more time to regain strength.

A competition schedule for Bella Rose has not been finalized, she said, but it could include the German Masters at Stuttgart in November.

“I really enjoyed the Central Park show,” Isabell told dressage-news.com. “It is a very special event in an amazing location.”

Isabell, the 46-year-old mother of a young boy, has three team and three world individual championship titles, has five Olympic team and individual gold medals and has 12 European Championship golds, accumulated over the past 26 years of top level competition.
