STONELEIGH PARK, England, Sept. 19, 2015–Charlotte Dujardin on the nine-year-old gelding Barolo won her first British Grand Prix Championship Saturday to add to the Olympic, world and European championship gold medals and a pair of World Cup titles on Valegro.
Charlotte who had ridden the Hanoverian gelding (Breitling W x Hitchcock) owned by Carl Hester and Ann Cohn in only two national Grand Prix before these championships scored 72.90 per cent for the victory Spencer Wilton on Numberto was reserve on 71.66 per cent.
Charlotte also garnered the medium open championship on Emma Blundell’s Mount St John Freestyle (Fidermark x Donnerhall) beating out the 16-year-old Phoebe Peters in the final performance on St. Lucci, the pony she has ridden to the pinnacle of European championships.
Michael Eilberg and Woodlander Farouche (Fuerst Heinrich x Dimaggio) was overall Intermediate 1 champion.
